EA has released a new dev blog by Knights of the Fallen Empire creative director Jesse Sky. Sky likens Star Wars: The Old Republic’s forthcoming expansion to The Empire Strikes Back, and speaks of a long-held desire to tell a Star Wars tale with similar twists, betrayals, and revelations.
Sky says that SWTOR will be getting back to BioWare’s roots as a roleplaying game focused on cinematic storytelling. “In its best moments, Star Wars: The Old Republic captures the same magic, but we want the whole experience to feel that way,” Sky says. “That’s why we’re revisiting the early gameplay experience to focus entirely on the story.”
